RAM (random access memory) is put on your computer ddrramexplained using RAM chips placed into special slots. When your computer is turned off, RAM is empty-unlike a hard disk, it can''t store data unless the RAM is powered by electricity. Step 2: RAM''s Power Source When you turn your computer on, electricity flows from the power supply ddrramexplained to the ddrramexplained motherboard. ddrramexplained Because the RAM is directly attached to the motherboard, it gets electricity from the motherboard. When RAM is powered by electricity, it can store data. Step 3: RAM and Hard ddrramexplained Disk Relationship The data is now in memory and can be used, manipulated, and altered. The altered data stays in RAM only until you issue a command to save it. When you issue a Save command, the altered data is sent back over the bus to your hard disk, and the data is stored there. When you turn your computer off, the data vanishes out of RAM, but stays permanently on ddrramexplained your hard disk. What is Buffered Memory? Buffered memory uses a Buffer chip to boost the clock signal sent across the memory module so that the clock signal is seen as a clean, sharp signal across the entire module. It eliminates chances of memory errors in data sent or retrieved from memory. It is commonly used in larger capacity Fast Page Mode or EDO modules. Buffered ddrramexplained modules have a different keyway in the contact edge and can only be used when the board supports Buffered modules. Unlike Registered modules, ddrramexplained it is not interchangeable with Unbuffered modules. Can I mix different speeds? PC600, PC700, and ddrramexplained PC800 are three different speeds of memory once available for RDRAM (Rambus dynamic random access memory) modules. Of the three, PC800 modules are the fastest, and PC600 modules are ddrramexplained the slowest. (PC600 and PC700 are no longer being produced by any manufacturer) Would you like to find ddr, simm or dimm memory but aren't sure where to look? Search no further.
